Recently I have been trying all sorts of relaxation techniques to aid in feeling calmer and more grounded. One of the techniques I especially love, is a Sound Bath. Naturally being quite a lively person, who always wants to do more, more, more it doesn’t always come easy to me, to just slow down and relax. I felt for a very long time that I always had to be doing something.
If you are the same as me, then here is why I recommend you try immersing yourself in a Sound Bath.
About 6 years ago I was in a bar in Stoke Newington, there was an older gentleman in there probably in his 80s. I gravitated towards him and started chatting to him. He was trying to put some money in the jukebox, so he could play a song that reminded him of his late wife, so I told him I’d help him do it. Anyway about 40 minutes later after telling each other our life stories (his way more interesting than mine) he said to me “Just slow down Nicole, with everything, slow down the running in your head, everything will come in time, but you need to slow down.”
I sort of knew what he meant, but I was a little confused. However the next day I kept thinking about it and I have always thought about it. He was completely right!

Through my study and research since then I realised I am not the only one, the majority of the population are constantly thinking about 101 things and juggling their daily routines to make time for everything. But only NOW through my work and life experiences do I recognise that it is so important we take time out for ourselves and just STOP!
Escape your screen and just bring yourself back from whatever you are doing to YOU.
Wondering what a Gong bath is?
A gong bath is an immersive sound experience. It’s called a ‘bath’ because sound waves ‘wash’ over you as you relax and enjoy the melodic journey. The harmonics will effortlessly lull your mind into a meditative state, while the vibrations revitalize your body and help to release tension. By the end, you’ll feel supremely relaxed, calm and happy.
