10 Sustainable coats that you will love this winter!

As It’s that time of year when we are all starting to bring out our winter coats, I thought I’d pull together a list of my favourite top 10 sustainable options that are available on the high street right now, and hopefully you will them as love as much as I do.

It’s so tempting to just immediately buy something you love without giving it a second thought. But before you launch into buying your new winter coat maybe consider purchasing something which has less impact on the environment, cruelty free or fair trade. I have put together a list of my top 10 favourites and under each image put some info about their sustainability factor!

1. Organic Cotton Trench Coat – Selected Femme.

I love this Organic Trench Coat from Selected Femme. If you’re looking for a classic staple item that is timeless, this would be worth investing in. You’ll have to be quick though, as there are only a few left in stock and they are currently in the sale!

ORGANIC COTTON This product is made of certified organic cotton. It means that no harmful chemicals such as pesticides or insecticides are used for growing the cotton. This provides a safe work environment for the farmers, and the soil stays fertile for longer.

2. Pocketed wool coat – Mango

Another classic coat in style and colour that I wanted to share with you, is this one from Mango. This coat is timeless and works with all body shapes. You can make it look super casual by wearing it with some jeans and flat chunky boots, trainers or team it with some heeled winter boots.

You can shop this lightweight trench coat from Wolf & Banger . A simple cut in design which means that you can throw this over anything. I personally love the wide sleeves and the pockets on the front. Not sure if its going to be the warmest, but if you’re looking for something a bit more interesting that has a strong sense of sustainability, then this is it.

I used to struggle so much when finding a coat to wear to work, especially when I was commuting. I’d always want to be warm, but then when I got to my end destination I’d be absolutely boiling! If you spend your day rushing around, getting in and out the car or running for trains, this is the perfect lightweight coat from Cos to grab and go.

This is the sort of coat you buy as a real treat and you keep in your wardrobe forever! You are definitely paying a bit more for this, but it’s the perfect evening coat that basically glams up every outfit and makes you feel like a film star. I have a long coat similar to this that I brought 8 years ago and I still wear it now. If you’re looking for a smart coat that will definitely keep you warm from head to toe, I would consider this. I tend to wear this style with casual outfits and If I am ever wearing a dress which looks like it will hang out the bottom of my coat. I have been looking for a belted leather look coat for a while and so glad that I have finally found one. This is stocked at Wolf & Badger but they only have limited stock available so I would be quick if you love this too.
